Overview

Wix is a user-friendly website builder that allows anyone to create a professional website without any coding. This guide covers everything from signing up to publishing your site.

1. Sign Up or Log In

Visit wix.com → Click “Get Started” or “Sign In”. You can sign up using email, Google, or Facebook.

Tip: Use a business email to keep accounts separated.
2. Choose How You Want to Create Your Site

Wix offers two approaches:

  • Wix ADI — Automatically creates a site for you based on your answers.
  • Wix Editor — Full manual control with drag‑and‑drop tools.
Beginners should start with Wix ADI. Designers should choose Wix Editor.
3. Select a Website Type

Choose from categories such as:

  • Business
  • Portfolio
  • Blog
  • Online Store
  • Personal

Wix will recommend the best features and templates based on your choice.

4. Pick a Template (Wix Editor)

Browse hundreds of templates and select one that fits your brand style. Click “Edit” to start customizing.

Tip: Choose a template that’s close to your final layout to save time.
5. Customize Your Website

Use the drag‑and‑drop editor to:

  • Add text, images, videos, and buttons
  • Modify fonts, colors, and layout
  • Add pages like “About”, “Services”, “Contact”
  • Install apps from the Wix App Market
Preview your site anytime using the “Preview” button.
6. Add Functional Elements

Depending on your goals, you may want to:

  • Connect a domain (free subdomain or custom domain)
  • Set up SEO using Wix’s built‑in SEO Assistant
  • Add forms (contact, newsletter)
  • Enable eCommerce tools if selling products
7. Mobile Optimization

Wix automatically creates a mobile layout. Use the phone icon in the editor to fine‑tune mobile‑only settings.

Make text larger and simplify layouts for mobile.
8. Preview and Publish

Click Preview to check the final look → then click Publish. Your site will appear at a free Wix URL, or upgrade to attach a custom domain.

9. Maintain & Update

Log in anytime to update content, post blogs, or adjust design. Use Wix Analytics to monitor traffic and performance.

Optional upgrades include custom domains, ad‑free plans, and advanced marketing tools.

Optional Enhancements

Upgrade to premium plans for: • Custom domain • No Wix ads • Extra storage • Advanced marketing tools
